One of the best artists of all time, and I do mean, of all time, is LaVern Baker. LaVern sang songs such as “Jim Dandy”, “See see rider”, and “Get Up, Get Up (you sleepy head)”. Jim Dandy, being one you probably know. I was at the library, looking for songs I could add to my Zune a few years back, and had come across her album in the R&B/Blues section. I had thought that it was Mary J. Blige at first but had realized it wasn’t after I had gotten home. After listening to it, I couldn’t get her song Tweedle Dee out of my head. Her music has a doo-wop sound to it, which isn’t close to the music I listen to. But it’s good, nonetheless. She is definitely an artist you should check out.
